Version 2.5 To Be Released Soon

While I haven’t done a lot to version 2.5, I am expecting to release a beta soon. I say beta because I don’t really want to release a full proper version with what could be a messed up physics system.
Yes, its finally happened. I have installed GMPhysics 4 into the game. This means Vista users will now finally be able to play – really, I mean it this time. Its been a long journey trying to add support for that crappy operating system, but now it will pay off.

I soiled myself on a bus yesterday….

Fizzics 2.0 Released

Fizzics 2.0 is here with many nice updates! Focusing on adding props and cleaning up a few bugs, Fizzics 2.0 is an optional update but worth your bandwidth. Includes new weapons and bricks.

The next version (2.5) is already underway. Version 2.5 is all about the physics system. Finally I got hold of GMPhysics 4 which is apparently compatible with Vista. It the latest stable version of the physics system so Fizzics should be faster. It also means implementing tools (such as welding and rope) can finally be possible.

Fizzics Blog To Close

Due to the creation of my new “company” AmorphousCoders (www.amorphouscoders.co.cc) the Fizzics blog will be closing. Fizzics updates and news will now be posted on the AmorphousCoders website under games. The Fizzics page will be added to the website soon.

The Fizzics blog will remain online for historical purposes.

Fizzics Rewrite Planned

I haven’t posted on this blog in gawd knows how long. This is because, thanks to an old DLL, Fizzics doesn’t work with Vista. Luckily with my purchase of GM7 I have the chance to rewrite Fizzics and get it out there.

Fizzics development really slow…motivation dented.

The recent Vista issue has really hurt my motive. Since pracitcally everyone who plays games is moving to Vista, things aren’t looking good.

Development wise…not much going on. I made a standing fan, but the sprite animation isn’t working very well with the physics. Don’t ask.

Vista just doesnt like it.

Cooldudetb reported to me that the game wouldn’t run and gave him a run time error. After getting that bug solved the game would just freeze when it gets to any map. Vista just doesn’t like Fizzics, huh? I would encourage all Vista users to give it a try. Hopefully if any more bugs occur, it will help point me in the direction of what the main issue is.
